We finally left Lefkas and are now anchored in a quiet bay on the E end of Kalamos island, Ak Aspro Yiali. On a flotilla in 2007 with our neighbours Chris & Alan onboard, we had some lunch stops here and called it Pirate’s Bay – the result of seeing an unusual looking yacht anchored here and of giving free rein to some wild imagination!
We had both sails up at once today! And a really good sail for about 15 minutes until the wind suddenly died. Still, we’d shaken out some cobwebs, metaphorical and possibly literal cobwebs as well.
There were quite a few boats anchored when we arrived, so we dropped in about 15m and settled back on the chain to lie in about 8m, far enough into to the turquoise water for swimming to be lovely. John finished cleaning the stinky Lefkas mud off the anchor and chain, while I put the tent up over the boom to keep us cool. We’d missed lunch, so still lemonade and biscuits, then a swim. Ah, Blissikins.

Tea and cake, enjoying the sound of cicadas. Many boats left, leaving just 5 of us and the young greeks camping on the beach.

Another swim, then drinks on the aft deck.
Dinner: Cold chicken, lemon potato salad, tomato & spring onion salad, followed by cherries.

To bed, no bar music, no traffic, sleepy and happy.
