There’s another island!

We finally broke free of Nidri/Tranquil Bay on Thursday and have been enjoying the peace of Ormos Abelike (Abelike Bay) on Meganissi. Who knew Greece had more than one island 😲

We’re anchored near the entrance to the middle cove, which in the light southerlies has been very comfortable. When we arrived there were a lot of boats anchored, which is why we aren’t further in! We like it here, so why move now there’s more room?

At night the only sound is cicadas and the occasional chug of an outboard pottering along (hardly any boy racers here!) Being the outermost boat means that, with the boat head to wind into the bay, our view astern from the cockpit is uninterrupted, ever-changing, and quite glorious.

  1. Lovely! We spent a very pleasant few days in the East cove on our last trip to the Ionian! I’m glad you’re enjoying it 😀
